As prominent and passionate members of the trade show and event industry, Gateway is committed to staying up-to-date on the COVID-19 outbreak and sharing all available info with our clients and followers. This is an update on the situation from our previous post.

There is no doubt that the unfolding Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis has significantly affected the trade show and event industry. With many countries, states, and cities have banning large events and gatherings and the CDC recommending that gatherings 50 people or more be canceled. Even prominent trade shows have postponed or canceled their event completely, even out until May. For example, Microsoft Build, CONNEX2020, and Salesforce Connections are just a few of the more recent postponements or digitalized events.

Many companies are encouraging or requiring non-essential workers to work remotely and are uncertain of how to approach the execution of their trade show programs. The first step that we recommend is to carefully review the contracts you have from show management. It is especially important to look for information on cancellation policies.

At Gateway, we are here to help. Our team is committed to helping you navigate through this uncharted territory. Reach out to us if you need any support in reviewing cancellation policies! Our team can shed light on the best strategy to give you the most flexibility with the least amount of strain on your budget.
